Get to know us.
We’re Texans, just like you.
We’re Black, White, disabled, queer. We’re parents, we’ve been pregnant, we’ve had abortions, miscarriages, and births. We’ve struggled to make ends meet. And like you, we’re living with the fear and confusion these laws create. We get it, and we’re here to help.
Our History
In the wake of the Dobbs decision, the need for compassionate, honest pregnancy support in Texas became undeniable. Nearly every existing center (over 200 statewide) was a Crisis Pregnancy Center, designed to block access to abortion care through shame, misinformation, and coercion. But some Texans believed there had to be another way—one rooted in truth, autonomy, and unconditional support.
While First Unitarian Church remains our most steadfast ally, TPRC is an independent nonprofit led by and accountable to the community it serves. With support from the church and a diverse coalition of volunteers and advocates, we transformed the former clinic space into a haven for reproductive care and dignity.
We opened our doors in April 2024 with one mission: to provide pregnancy support without an agenda. Today, TPRC is one of only two non-coercive pregnancy resource centers in Texas—and the only one offering free, evidence-based services in a setting where every decision is respected.
Among them was a longtime volunteer at a local abortion clinic and a member of First Unitarian Church of Dallas. After the clinic was forced to close, they saw an opportunity to meet a growing need. They consulted with the clinic’s former owners to explore using the space for a new kind of resource center; one that would honor the legacy of reproductive freedom while providing real, unbiased support for people navigating pregnancy. From that vision, Truth Pregnancy Resource Center (TPRC) was born.
